Narrated by Umar bin Khattab (RA) while on the pulpit, “I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) saying, ‘The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for.'”

Eid-al-Fitr

Eid-al-Fitr is the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal.
It marks the end of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting
and prayer. Many Muslims attend communal prayers, listen
to a khutba (sermon) and give zakat al-fitr
(charity in the form of food) during Eid al-Fitr.

Eid ul-Adha

Eid ul-Adha celebrations continue for three days, starting on the 10th
day of the month of Dhul Hijja of the lunar Islamic calendar. This is the day
after the pilgrims in Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia
by Muslims worldwide, descend from Mount Arafat. Like Eid ul-Fitr, Eid
ul-Adha begins with a short prayer followed by a sermon (Khutba). Men,
women, and children are expected to dress in their finest clothing.
